About Wendy

Wendy Dooley is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with more than 25 years of experience within the Newfoundland and Labrador school system. She is passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and adults as they navigate life’s challenges. Her background in both education and counselling has provided her with a strong understanding of the emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs of individuals across the lifespan.

Wendy holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Education (BEd), Bachelor of Special Education (BSpEd), and a Master of Education (MEd) in Counselling Psychology. This combination of education and professional experience allows her to approach counselling from a holistic, strengths-based perspective.

Wendy works with children ages 5 and older, adolescents, and adults experiencing concerns such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, addictions, stress, self-esteem, emotional regulation, and life transitions. Whether clients are working through a specific challenge or looking to better understand themselves and their experiences, Wendy strives to provide a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and understood.

Wendy’s therapeutic approach is collaborative and individualized, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Person-Centred Therapy. She works alongside clients to build on their existing strengths, develop practical coping strategies, and identify meaningful steps toward positive change. Wendy believes that effective counselling is grounded in trust, empathy, and collaboration, and that each person has the capacity to grow and develop greater resilience.

Wendy’s goal is to help clients gain the insight, skills, and confidence they need to navigate challenges, strengthen their well-being, and move forward with greater clarity, hope, and purpose.
